EVOO Infusion with Velvet Purps

We took a gram of cannabis and made a potent Extra Virgin Olive Oil that can be used alone or as the base for so many different therapeutic, wellness, or entertainment purposes. Decarbed, this beautiful purple strain is 17.2% THC, which is 172 mg of THC in each gram. Infusing one gram of decarbed flower into EVOO gave us 160 mg into the ounce of oil!. Starting flower testing below on the left, finished oil on the right.

How we infuse: We took 1 gram of flower we decarbed in the Nova Lift, broke it up a little bit (no grinding needed) and mixed it with 1 ounce of our EVOO in the silicone sleeve . When you place the sleeve into the Nova Lift and press the button, the THC (or CBD, if you are using CBD flower) infuses right into the oil. A quick strain when it comes out, and your oil is ready to use! Easy as pie — which it also tastes delicious in btw…

The 1 gram of cannabis we started with had 172 mg of THC, and our final ounce of oil had 160 mg of THC. That’s an over 90% infusion rate with 160mg active THC using just one gram of cannabis. How amazing is that?

Ways you can use your oil: Literally endless, and we know you want to know them all. Check out this simple and delicious recipe for chocolate cannabis bananas.

  1. I love my Ardent Nova! It’s easy to use and it creates the perfect decatb and infusion oil.
    Thank you

  2. Hey great video! I am curious if you can use coconut oil instead of olive oil? Are the steps any different? Thanks.

    1. Hi there,

You can definitely use coconut oil instead of olive oil! I make this substitution all the time!

  3. I just recently started making my own edible for my medicinal purposes.
Needless to say, after my first decarb in the oven, something had to change.
That’s when I found the Ardent Lift!
All the difference in the world…..
Now, I’m making infused oils, tinctures, and the best banana cakes, brownies….
    and practically anything else edible.
Best of all, no one knows I’m doing it!

  4. I’ve been trying to figure out how to extract the oil from a flower and this device sounds like heaven sent! Can’t wait to try it!

  5. How many times should I decarb cbd and cbg? I usually do twice instead of once when using thc. Any new advice or info to this?

    1. Hey there!

The results if you decarb twice depend on the starting material of your flower!

If the flower is CBD, the following information will help:

All of our most current research about CBD so far can be found at

The determining factor in CBDa decarb is actually whether THCa is also present. Where THCa is present, even where CBDa is dominant, CBDa and THCa will decarb simultaneously and at the precision temps that work for conversion to THC. It is only where THCa is minimal or not present that CBDa may require longer (2 cycle) processing.

If the flower is mostly THC, the following information should help:

We find that some of our customers that are used to smoking or using ovens become quite accustomed to CBN rather then THC and notice the difference when this cannabinoid is less or not at all present.

To achieve similar levels of CBN as smoking or the over heating of an oven would you would simply need to over-decarb your product on purpose. To do this you would run the flower through one cycle with the unit – let the unit fully cool – and then run another cycle again.

The general idea is the more you overheat the higher levels of CBN and lower levels of THC you will achieve. We look forward to having more information on the exact levels at which the CBN rising and THC falls.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out with any further questions.

  6. Worth every penny spent! I’ve had a Nova now do about 6months. It does everything you said it does. I make my own tinctures for pain, and salves with bees wax to rub on painful areas. Great results!

  7. We loved our Nova, but recently upgraded to the Nova FX which I’ve not tried yet. We will not smoke marijuana as we believe that there is no reason to add carcinogens into our lungs in order to gain the medical benefits. That, to us, is counter productive. The Nova eliminates that issue so we get the good benefits without the bad. It also keeps our dosing consistent and doesn’t waste product. Our doctors are all very happy with the way we are processing our marijuana using the Nova. We are able to tell them how many mg of THC we use on a daily basis. It’s easy to use and consistent in results. Thanks so much for a great product!

  8. I love my new FX. I have used the Lift for 2 years and i needed something bigger. I make edibles much stronger than most people.
120 grams of top shelf buds decarbed and then infused into 23 oz of coconut oil. I use mixed strains to achieve a desired effect (CBD Sativa and Indica blends for day and night use). The FX is a serious game changer for me. That infusion made 6 batches of gummies 270 gummies that are about 70MG THC per gummy.
Effective meds and that would have been a long time in the nova.

Both products get the most out of your buds.

  9. Honestly this has been the most fun I’ve had in a long time. It’s discrete, i can’t smell anything with the scent shield and have turned into a full on edible chef lol. Highly recommend as it really is an adult easy bake oven.

  10. After 40+ years of stinking up the whole house decarbing in the oven I finally bought a Ardent Nova I couldn’t believe the lack of smell and how well it turned out shame on me for waiting so long
